In the Distance

In the Distance

This is a photograph where it leads your eye along the concrete wall, across the waters to the bridge in the distance. This image was taking at sunset in Tempeh, Arizona, USA.

I have called it “In the Distance” as it leads your attention into the distance.

Golden Eyes

Golden Eyes

I was able to get close to this tiger through the benefit of a glass partition. He was just relaxing and enjoying life. He is absolutely majestic and gorgeous. He has such golden eyes so that is what I have called this photograph.

Panthera Tigris

Panthera Tigris is the latin name or scientific name of a tiger. He is majestic in every way especially in this profile image. I have rendered this photograph that I took as an artistic image with colours and also lighting effects.

Working It Out

Mikawoz Working It Out

Working It Out

There is something beautiful about architecture and the way a building needs a solid foundation in order to grow onwards and upwards. I have called this photograph “Working It Out” because you start your problems from the base and only then can look upwards.

This is by the bridges of Tempe, near Phoenix, Arizona, USA at sunset. There is a river in the foreground.

My Way

Mikawoz My Way

My Way

“Are you going my way?” says the Mandrill. He is headed on a journey.

According to National Geographic,”Mandrills are the largest of all monkeys. They are shy and reclusive primates that live only in the rain forests of equatorial Africa. Mandrills are extremely colorful, perhaps more so than any other mammal. They are easily identifiable by the blue and red skin on their faces and their brightly hued rumps.”

Coiled

Mikawoz Coiled

Coiled

I do not particularly like snakes but I do find them interesting and so that is why I took its photograph. This one is coiled up onto itself.

I do not know even what kind of snake it is. It was taken at the Phoenix Zoo in Arizona.

According to National Geographic, “There are more than 3,000 species of snakes on the planet and they’re found everywhere except in Antarctica, Iceland, Ireland, Greenland, and New Zealand. About 600 species are venomous, and only about 200—seven percent—are able to kill or significantly wound a human.”

Porcupine Quills

Mikawoz Porcupine Quills

Porcupine Quills

This is a close-up of porcupine quills. I love to take close-ups especially of animals.

According to National Geographic, “Porcupines have soft hair, but on their back, sides, and tail it is usually mixed with sharp quills. … Porcupines cannot shoot them at predators as once thought, but the quills do detach easily when touched. Many animals come away from a porcupine encounter with quills protruding from their own snouts or bodies.”

Gnarled with Time

Mikawoz Gnarled with Time

Gnarled With Time

I have always had an affinity for trees with character. This tree has seen some rough times in the deserts of Arizona. It is definitely gnarled with time and yet it continues to survive like a fighter. They are the wisps of nature as it continues to grow in perfect balance.
