This photograph is entitled “Golden Harvest.” I wanted us to remember the good times of harvesting.
We are in winter now where life is dormant and in hibernation mode. In spring, we will plant the seeds and in summer, we will tend and nurture them. In autumn, we will harvest the goods. It is a yearly cycle and routine which we can endeavour to pattern our lives around. We are now enjoying the produce of our efforts with these times of celebration. This is not a typical image for this time of year but it is my “Horn of Plenty” and I hope you enjoy and appreciate the golden harvest we are enjoying at Christmas time.

Sunny Sunflower
The sunflower looks like the face a sun would have. It is bright and cheery with red, orange and yellow hues on its petals. I thought this would be a nice summer time photo to have to brighten us up as today is a dreary, rainy autumn day and we need that golden ray of sunshine.
I feel as if it is saying “Hello World! Things will be better very soon. I promise.”

I took this photograph in the fields around the Interlake area of Manitoba. I really enjoy the pattern of the bales of hay on the prairies with its golden tone. I took this image and put a variety of filters on it to make it look more like a painting effect with fibers.

Off in the distance, you can see sailboats as the sun sets in the sky. I took this photograph while on a boat in the Pacific Ocean off of Waikiki Beach in Honolulu, Hawaii.

I was able to get close to this tiger through the benefit of a glass partition. He was just relaxing and enjoying life. He is absolutely majestic and gorgeous. He has such golden eyes so that is what I have called this photograph.

These oak trees are the most perfect element in the beautiful autumn sky behind them. This photograph was taken at Assiniboine Park near the previous Conservatory in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The seasons continue to change and with it comes renewed hope as we enter Spring.

According to Wikipedia, “The golden eagle is one of the best-known birds of prey in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the most widely distributed species of eagle. Like all eagles, it belongs to the family Accipitridae. These birds are dark brown, with lighter golden-brown plumage on their napes.”

This is a photograph I took in the Interlake area of Manitoba, Canada. I would like to thank David Elliott Atwell for driving me around and letting me take such great photographs. Without him, these beautiful eagles would not be captured with their striking eyes, golden beaks and white heads.
