For once, the waters and the sand are empty of people. The summer season is essentially over and only a few brave souls make it out onto Grand Beach. This photograph has a richness of colours as there are three stripes of colours crossing the horizon from the sky, the lake and the sand. I took my chances and waded through the water to see if it was warm or cold. It was a tinge warm but already turning cold.

This beach is fantastic and a great place to walk on the boardwalk. Normally, people are having fun by sunning themselves, playing frisbee or football, catch in the water or volleyball on the sand. 

CBC reported, “Grand Beach (is) less than an hour from Winnipeg. Grand Beach has been called one of Canada’s best beaches. The beach has three kilometres of fine, white sand backed by 12-metre sand dunes on the edge of the town of Grand Marais in Grand Beach Provincial Park.”

With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

Ice Cream Swirl

This an image I created with various coloured pens. It is a work of art in transition. It is very different from the beginning product once I scanned it into the computer and worked with it as digital piece of artwork. 

To me, it is fun and reminds me of ice cream swirls with all the magical colours of tasty ice cream. Based on the variety of colours, I think, in fact, it is called “Rainbow Ice Cream.” Can’t you just taste it? 

It is not summer at this time of year and getting quite frosty outside but why not? Enjoy and be decadent and have a yummy ice cream cone despite it being the “wrong” season. We need to enjoy the present moment and why not splurge on a special treat for you or that special someone, whatever that means for you?

Frozen Wheat

Thank you for liking, sharing or commenting.

This was during an end of winter/beginning of spring drive.  Beside this frozen shafts of wheat were spots of spring starting with green grass popping up.  I like the curvature of the wheat as it wisps and twirls with the wind’s direction.  I like the quiet beauty of the wheat that just won’t quit despite it being out of season.  I also like the way parts of the snow look blue in the shadows.
