This boulder normally would be under water but the water levels in the lake were so low that it not only was amongst the lowest levels in history but the surrounding forests were on fire nearby. This is off of Matheson Island that you can only reach by boat or taking your car over a ferry boat.
I love the way the boulder has a unique shape. I love the way a pool of water has surrounded the rock. Together the shape of the rock and the offsetting pool of water somehow complement each other in the sand.
With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

This huge rock and pile of trees are in front of the water’s edge. I have focusssed it to showcase the varying textures from the ripples in the water, to the growth of the brush to the angle of the tree branches. Fluffy light clouds highlight the top of the photograph.

I drew an abstract Earth or planet. This is my interpretation of how the vapours come off of the Earth’s atmosphere into the upper stratosphere. The gases are released through all parts of our rock. It is particularly noticeable from the north and south poles.
I am not making any commentary about climate change although we should be concerned about nature, animals, plants and the environment as inhabitants of this Earth. Normally, there is an exchange of gases throughout the layers emanating outwards towards the Universe. In the same way that people breathe in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide there is a symbiotic relationship with nature.

I was walking along the shores of Lake Winnipeg up around Matheson Island. The water had receded so I could walk along the area that is normally under the lake. It is interesting how the water has picked up and perfectly placed the rock on the middle of some crack lines going off into many directions and angles. You can even see the shadow of the rock from the setting sun in the west.
I like the way your eye is taking in off to many directions yet creating the effect of coming back to the center of the image where the rock is king while appreciating the balance of the composition.

Somehow, this beautiful, white flower has found a way to live, grow and bloom amongst the needles of the pine trees. It is delicate and fragile and the pine needles are sharp, prickly and dangerous to its continuing existence. It is like a very nice person who is positive and upbeat amongst negative and vile people affecting the essence of the individual.

Way up in the Rocky Mountains, there are hardy and beautiful yellow flowers growing out of rock. They are determined and strong to grow out of the sides of mountains.
I have to give them credit for being so tenacious and having a “Never Give Up” Attitude. You have to be in the mountains at the right time of year for them to be blooming.

This adorable little chipmunk is on the rise of the Pride Rock which comes from the Lion King movie just like Mufasa or Simba. He is perching every so eloquently and royally. So, you see, I have a bit of an imagination…

Here is an image of free range buffalo or bison in the Wild West of Canada. They are roaming freely across the grassy foothills of the mountains. It is part of the Bison Paddock Road in Waterton Lakes National Park. I like the way the scenery is composed by nature.

It is all about perspective. From below, you can see the huge rock, the incredibly gorgeous trees changing colour and starting to fall to the Earth beside the lakeshore. The clouds in the sky are dramatic.

This is an iguana on a boulder getting up to sun himself. He is perched every so precariously but he has the claws to be able to climb up and balance himself.
