Crisp and Clear – Photography by Mary Mikawoz – Click on image or link to see the bigger picture.
I consider this image to be called, “Crisp and Clear.” It is incredibly beautiful scenery with the majestic mountains. It was taken on a moving train trip from Winnipeg to Vancouver. At this time, we were in the Thompson-Nicola area of British Columbia.
As for me, I love beauty in all its forms. With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and feel as if I am “in the flow.” With my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time. I feel as if I am zinged when I capture that special shot and it is meant to be.

You can not have a beautiful valley without having grandiose mountains. This scenery is absolutely gorgeous to behold. I took this photograph mid-summer and yet there is still snow up in the hills. I like the features of the mountain top with the jagged peaks and textures.
I like the flow of the valley with all the trees and then the blue sky with pretty little clouds in it. Nature is perfect as it is God’s creation and spectacular.

These are beautifully sculpted and jagged mountain tops. The sun is coming from the left side and embellishing the mountains with its hue. There is some vegetation growth up the sides and although it was summer, there is snow high up towards its peaks.

This drawing started off as drawing of coloured pencils, blue pen and markers. I then took the basic shape or frame of it and enhanced it digitally. I found it to be a good experience because the essential flow of it stayed intact which I like very much.
I was feeling solemn when I drew this picture but where there is darkness, a ray of light peaks in and brings hope.

This photo is a different view of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, California. The towers are visible but not the entire bridge. Apparently, there is usually a lot of fog covering the bridge and it remains visible for very few days of the year. We were lucky as the fog was lifting. At one point in time, until 1964, it was the longest suspension bridge spanning San Francisco to Marin County at 4200 feet (1280 meters). It was voted one of the Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Blue skies, blue mountains, blue borders it all. These are the incredible Rocky Mountains found in Alberta and British Columbia, Canada. They are stoic and ever-lasting in their beauty as they grace the Canadian landscape. Wisps of gentle white clouds linger along the mountain peaks. At the base you can see the coniferous trees growing and yet on top you see the white snow and ice. I hope you enjoy this image as much as I enjoyed being in their presence and taking their photographs.
