Diamond Head

Mikawoz Diamond Head

Diamond Head

This is the basis of a photograph I took of the Diamond Head Mountain in Waikiki, Hawaii while I was on a boat on the Pacific Ocean. I have digitally created a new imprint of the mountain.

According to the Go Hawaii website, “Known as Leahi (brow of the tuna) in Hawaiian, the crater was named Diamond Head by 19th century British sailors who thought they discovered diamonds on the crater’s slopes. These “diamonds” were actually shiny calcite crystals that had no value.”

Balcony Love

Balcony Love

Here is a silhouette of a couple in love enjoying the sunset in Waikiki part of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. They are on their balcony seeing the last remnants of the night sky turn a beautiful orange and yellow hue into the night sky as the sun disappears behind the horizon.

Fiery Orange Ball

Fiery Orange Ball

This is the setting sun of an orange ball in the sky affecting the clouds around it. It was incredibly beautiful over the North Pacific Ocean near Waikiki, Oahu. Mind you, it was very quick. We were on a boat cruise and the sun disappeared very quickly so I had to be quick with my camera photos.

Rainfall on Ocean

This is a shot of Waikiki Beach in Oahu, Hawaii.  Over the ocean there are storm clouds in the sky and from the bottom, you can see how the rain has started on the ocean.  It was very difficult to get any photos as these beaches are almost always full of people swimming and riding the surf.  For once, I was able to capture it relatively quiet of people and in the pristine beauty of nature itself.  I have always enjoyed seeing rain from a distance.  On the prairies you can see the rain storm coming from far away.

Moon through Palm Trees

This photographic shot was taken in the evening while we enjoyed a Luau on Oahu, Hawaii.  The moon is almost hidden by the palm trees even though it is fully in the sky.  Who doesn’t like a full moon?  There is something spectacular in seeing the whole moon light up the night sky.  One of the most amazing things for me is the way the lunar appearance affects entire oceans with ensuring the pull and withdrawal of the waters surf.
