Boating at Sunset – Photography by Mary Mikawoz – Click on image or link to see the bigger picture.
This beautiful sunset shot was taken from a second floor structure in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We were dining a ocean-side restaurant. The viewing of the sunset was gorgeous and very delightful. It has a brilliance of various colours that were orange, yellow and golden.
The boat is travelling north along the Bay of Banderas. They were enjoying the salty breeze and the incredible and wonderful sunset.
I feel this view is nicely framed by the straw coming down from the roof of the building.
As for me, I love beauty in all its forms. With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and feel as if I am “in the flow.” With my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time. I feel as if I am zinged when I capture that special shot and it is meant to be.

This is a photograph I took that just reminds me of the old west. Across the mountain pathway, along the valley, you have an old-fashioned metal railway bridge crossing over the waters and land.
I love the movement and flow in the mountain with waved shapes as a backdrop. To me it is a gorgeous sight sculpted by God. I have made it into a black and white picture as I like the effect and feel of it.

I took this image of Peyto Lake after hiking up the trail to the top view and to appreciate this incredibly beautiful azure colour of the water. I like the way there is snow up in the mountains and the sky is so dramatic looking.
The hike is 3.8 miles round trip but it is totally worth it. The lake is found 40 kilometers or 25 miles north of Lake Louise on the Icefields Highway. Currently, Peyto Lake is closed to visitors until November 2020. It has been open to visitors since 1941 but right now, it is undergoing renovations by the Canadian government in the amount of 2.9 million dollars.
According to Wikipedia, “Peyto Lake is a glacier-fed lake in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies…It was named for Bill Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Banff area.”

Somehow, this beautiful, white flower has found a way to live, grow and bloom amongst the needles of the pine trees. It is delicate and fragile and the pine needles are sharp, prickly and dangerous to its continuing existence. It is like a very nice person who is positive and upbeat amongst negative and vile people affecting the essence of the individual.
This photograph was taken in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta.

Way up in the Rocky Mountains, there are hardy and beautiful yellow flowers growing out of rock. They are determined and strong to grow out of the sides of mountains.
I have to give them credit for being so tenacious and having a “Never Give Up” Attitude. You have to be in the mountains at the right time of year for them to be blooming.

Up on the Athabasca Glacier, you will see a ton of ice and snow. You will see Heaven as you are higher up on the mountains. It is as if you are at the height of heaven because the clouds are right there at sight level.
This photograph was captured after taking one of the tour buses up the glacier during summer-type conditions but it was just like winter. You had better bring some warm jackets or coats to keep warm from the cold.
This glacier is found about half way between Banff and Jasper, Alberta.
According to Wikipedia, “The Athabasca Glacier is one of the six principal ‘toes’ of the Columbia Icefield, located in the Canadian Rockies. The glacier currently loses depth at a rate of about 5 metres (16 ft) per year and has receded more than 1.5 km (0.93 mi) and lost over half of its volume in the past 125 years.”

You can not have a beautiful valley without having grandiose mountains. This scenery is absolutely gorgeous to behold. I took this photograph mid-summer and yet there is still snow up in the hills. I like the features of the mountain top with the jagged peaks and textures.
I like the flow of the valley with all the trees and then the blue sky with pretty little clouds in it. Nature is perfect as it is God’s creation and spectacular.

These are beautifully and individually sculpted mountains. Each mountain is different from the next. There are various hues of blue ranging from the mountains to the sky. I hope you like it too.

This is a photograph I took in and around the National Parks in Banff and Jasper, Alberta. It takes in the breadth and beauty of the wilderness. The lake is pristine clear blue and the mountains are limited in the amount of snow they have on them. There is a reflection of the mountains in the water below. Finally, ]bushes up front frame the picture well and bring you into the image as if you were there.

I took this photograph looking back as we left for a ride from a boat on Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada.
This is Prince of Wales Hotel located in Waterton. According to Wikipedia, “The Prince of Wales Hotel was designed by, and was built for the Great Northern Railway company. The hotel is presently managed by the Pursuit Collection.”
Further, it was opened in July 1927 and is 121 feet tall or 35 metres with seven floors. We had the opportunity to have supper.
