Nodule of Life – Photography by Mary Mikawoz – Click on image or link to see the bigger picture.
This is an extremely old elm tree. It has so much substance of life. It has been through a lot in life history as evidenced by its nodule where once a tree branch was part of this magnificent tree. I love the nodule for it is intrinsic in design and yet it has movement, flow and texture. The photo was taken at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canada.
With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

Silent Moon Over Water – Photography by Mary Mikawoz
I took this beautiful evening photograph just as the sun was setting and the moon was rising over the water. The Hunter’s Moon is magnificent leaving a trail of its light on the waves of the water. Twinkling in the water are coloured rivulets of pink reflections just past the branches.
It brings me much joy to see the moon rising beyond the horizon each time I see it.

I took this photograph one cool fall night many moons ago in Assiniboine Park. The sun was setting in the west and the sky turned a multitude of magnificent colours including pink, blue, purple, red, orange, and yellow. It is a veritable rainbow of colours. The trees are dark silhouetted and seem to be dramatic or mysterious in their own way.
I love the branches of the trees as they extend towards the sky yearning for more attention from the sun and their impending growth. They cry out to the sun, “Please give us more. We need you.”
Throughout the seasons, they get what they need and now as we approach winter time, we go dormant and fall asleep for awhile in plant-life hibernation.

Blue Door – Black and White Photography by Mary MIkawoz Click image or link to see entire photograph
Blue Door
I took this photograph of a few outcrop buildings in the prairie fields of rural Manitoba. I found it interesting because it had a blue door naturally. I have made the image black and white so that it stands out even more.
It was found on a farm in the Rural Municipality of Morris south of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I hope you like it and find it an interesting shot.

I really like the way the two Big Horn Sheep are pretty much camouflaged with the brown background. They are stoic even as they sit eloquently on the ground. This was taken at Bearizona Wildlife Park near Flagstaff Arizona where you drive through the Ponderosa Forest.

I was just walking along in a park when I looked down and saw the beautiful arrangement of an oak leaf and acorns on the pathway. It was as if someone had intentionally put it there to be just in perfect balance and harmony. It is nature against a man-made backdrop. “From the beginning seed of a small acorn, will grow a magnificent oak tree which started out with humble beginnings with dreams and aspirations of greatness.” Quote by Mary Mikawoz.

Majestic and magnificent is the Lion King. He is statuesque, strong and vibrant. The male lives between 10 to 14 years in the wild. They can reach 80 km/h in short bursts and weight 190 kg.
