Wild Rose of Alberta
Here is a beautiful, pink rose bush that represents the symbol of Alberta. I took the photograph in Elk Island National Park near Edmonton.
According to the Indigenous Teaching and Learning Gardens website, the Indigenous used the wild rose as follows: “Used medicinally to treat bee stings, colds, blindness and diarrhea. The rose has also been used in ceremonial medicine. Rosehip rinds were eaten.”

Balcony Love
Here is a silhouette of a couple in love enjoying the sunset in Waikiki part of Honolulu, on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. They are on their balcony seeing the last remnants of the night sky turn a beautiful orange and yellow hue into the night sky as the sun disappears behind the horizon.

Wrinkles In Time
The water in the Bahama Islands has created these “Wrinkles in Time.” I took a number of photographs of these sand ridges. It is as if they are individual finger prints in the memory of time and sand. It was hard to find places were people had not stood and ruined the individual prints. I like the texture and flow. It is like musical rhythm.

Alcatraz Island
I took this photo of this famous island from a ferry boat ride that was going by the sight. The island is known as “The Rock” and was home to a lighthouse, a military fortification, a military prison and a federal prison. Native Americans call it an “evil island” and believe it to be cursed. A number of movies have been made on the Island. Tours are available to it. You can see a huge barge on the right of the photo and in front of the bridge.
