I love Indian Ink and traditional nib pens. I love the flow of ink. I developed this psychedelic look because it was fun to do and I was in the mood to create. I put in various other colours to get a cool look and feel. As I did the last part in the computer, I can digitally put any colours you wish if you like the design. I hope you like it. This reminds of the fashions worn in the 1960s and 1970s during the Flower Power Hippie Movement of Peace and Love. We do need more kindness and compassion in the world. I believe the feeling of this piece is subtle, soft and demure.

With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

This is a drawing I created with India Ink, with old-fashioned ink wells and nib pens that flow onto the surface of the drawing pad. I scanned it and created more colour.  

I have emphasized the colour purple and according to ColorMatters website, “Taking all aspects of purple’s past and present into consideration, purple symbolizes magic, mystery, spirituality, the sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty – and it evokes all of these meanings more so than any other color.”

Trois Oeufs

This is my abstract interpretation of trois oeufs or three eggs. Originally, the picture was drawn with pen and then added to with India Ink. I then added colour to it. Symbolically, eggs represent many things to many cultures including birth and fertility. I like the potential that eggs represent and the ability to grow into something bigger and better.

This is my representation of my home town Winnipeg. Many home town instituttions are Blue and Gold from the City of Winnipeg to the Fort Garry Horse Regiment to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. It is made with India ink both brush strokes and nib pens.
