I was just thinking this would be a great start to a joke, “A Peony, Fern and an Ant grow up together in a garden…”
I simply like the composition of the ferns highlighting the full blossom peony and the little ant doing its job to open up the shut peony.
According to the DIY Network website, “Ants and peonies go together like peanut butter and jelly. The association is so strong that much folklore has developed around the issue of ants on peonies”
Further it says, “To a certain extent, ants actually take advantage of the peony flowers, harvesting much nectar from the plants. But the peonies also benefit, in that ants often devour any insects that are attacking the plants.”

Sunny Sunflower
The sunflower looks like the face a sun would have. It is bright and cheery with red, orange and yellow hues on its petals. I thought this would be a nice summer time photo to have to brighten us up as today is a dreary, rainy autumn day and we need that golden ray of sunshine.
I feel as if it is saying “Hello World! Things will be better very soon. I promise.”

Bee My Sunflower
I absolutely love how my photograph came out. I love to capture God’s or the Universe’s glory and beauty in its natural state of being.
There is a busy, little bee doing what it does best. I like the colours of the red, orange and yellow of the sunflower. It is unique and different from the usual sunflowers I have seen. I also like how the colours are offset by the contrasting blue sky.

I look this image of the bee in the flowers in Freeport, Bahamas. What I like about this photograph that I took is the fact that the flower is in various stages of development just like people from baby to youngling to adult. I find the spiky nature particularly appearing which I guess would be like the teenage years.

Interesting Internet Fact about Anthuriums – “The Colorful Heart-Shape is Not A Flower. Though it looks like a waxy bloom, it is actually a spathe, or shield-like leaf. Its function is to protect the spadix, which contains several tiny flowers when in bloom. The spathe can come in many colors, such as pink, orange and white.” These ones are red.

Here is a beautiful red rose from me to you! I have left the essential rouge colour as it is and took out the green background to make it black and white. I love what you can do with computer design nowadays.
It was taken at the Rose Garden in Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

This rose is absolutely perfect existing in this world as a beautiful flower. It is not alone as there are other roses growing with it on a bush. It has soft droplets of water on it because of the dew in the air.

This is a crown thistle. It is perfect with its jagged edges and thorns. “Thistle is the common name of a group of flowering plants characterised by leaves with sharp prickles on the margins, mostly in the family Asteraceae. Prickles can also occur all over the plant – on the stem and on the flat parts of the leaves.”

This is an abstract picture of the universe. It deals with textured acrylic paint and the idea of the universe being connected. I am influenced in my abstract art by Jack Bush (a Canadian Artist) and Lawren Harris of the Canadian Group of Seven.
