Swim and swimming are words I like because they involve me being directly in the flow. I love being in water but have not always. I once had an experience where I was at a public swimming pool and midway across it, I simply forgot how to swim. I am not kidding. I was about to panic but I said to myself “Stay Calm. You can do this.”
I somehow figured out how to float and then make progression across the pool to the side. I was so upset, I swam to the ladder and immediately got out of the pool and left. I changed and went home. That was that.
I did not go back to water of any sort for a long period of time. Even taking a shower was kind of like a mini-crisis. I could not trust myself not to drown or so I thought. I am not sure what happened exactly. I was doing fine that day in the pool but perhaps I just was not focussed enough. I do not know what came over me. What had come naturally to me from years of lessons in swimming, now became a big time issue for me.
Fast forward a number of years and on many levels, I still had my fear. Then something switched in my brain again. I realized that water is good. I came to value it whether it was coming through internally when hydrating myself or through being in it for showers and what not.
I actually think I have to thank Wim Hof for this one. I reviewed one of his books where he suggested doing cold showers along with his breathing technique. I quickly implemented the specific breathing practice and loved the results so it was only natural to end my hot showers with turning on the cold for a few seconds and then longer. I no longer feared the water and had a new profound respect for it.
Now, when I go swimming in the lake again, I revel being in the cooler waters. It is enticing and engaging. Now, I am swimming in a pool again and I love the way my body feels immersed in the soft, luscious and fluid substance. I love the subtle feel of the water as it encapsulates and surrounds my body. I love the flow of the water as I take each stroke swimming. It is an incredible substance that can be a vapour, a solid as ice or fluid as water. I now and again love my H20.

I love Indian Ink and traditional nib pens. I love the flow of ink. I developed this psychedelic look because it was fun to do and I was in the mood to create. I put in various other colours to get a cool look and feel. As I did the last part in the computer, I can digitally put any colours you wish if you like the design. I hope you like it. This reminds of the fashions worn in the 1960s and 1970s during the Flower Power Hippie Movement of Peace and Love. We do need more kindness and compassion in the world. I believe the feeling of this piece is subtle, soft and demure.

As I was walking along the sandy beach, I saw this combination of driftwood that collected itself in the shape of a horseshoe. It is unique in design but is reflecting the path and flow of water that moved and created this delicate artwork. Mother Nature is the best creative artist of them all!

This is an extremely old elm tree. It has so much substance of life. It has been through a lot in life history as evidenced by its nodule where once a tree branch was part of this magnificent tree. I love the nodule for it is intrinsic in design and yet it has movement, flow and texture. The photo was taken at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Canada.

This is a photograph I took that just reminds me of the old west. Across the mountain pathway, along the valley, you have an old-fashioned metal railway bridge crossing over the waters and land.
I love the movement and flow in the mountain with waved shapes as a backdrop. To me it is a gorgeous sight sculpted by God. I have made it into a black and white picture as I like the effect and feel of it.

The breeze was blowing across the waters near Grand Beach, Manitoba. It is part of the Lake Winnipeg system. I took this photo midway between West Beach and East Beach in the Lagoon.
I can still hear the wind whipping by and remember the plants swaying to the moving air flow. You can see the ripples of the water behind.

This is originally an abstract pen drawing which flowed and came out of me easily which I the manipulated digitally. It represents an eye. From left to right, it is the side view of an eye with the cornea, iris and lens. It has the sclera too.
I remember doing a project as a youngster on anatomical parts of the eye. I remember distinctly drawing out the features of the eye with its component parts. I have put light coming through the front of the eye and back through to be processed by the brain in a multitude of colours. There is wisdom and knowledge there with a bright understanding of the processed information, just like we all do.
The eye represents vision but it is also representing the sixth sense of being able to see beyond what we see physically.
According to Oprah’s website, “Clairvoyance means clear seeing. This is when visions past, present and future flash through our mind’s eye, or third eye, much like a daydream. Many of us are highly visual and able to understand an idea best when we see it written or sketched out as an image on a computer screen or on a canvas. Visual people often choose to be artists, builders, photographers, decorators, designers and so forth. If this sounds familiar, your clairvoyance is most likely a dominant sense.”

This is a drawing I created with India Ink, with old-fashioned ink wells and nib pens that flow onto the surface of the drawing pad. I scanned it and created more colour.
I have emphasized the colour purple and according to ColorMatters website, “Taking all aspects of purple’s past and present into consideration, purple symbolizes magic, mystery, spirituality, the sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty – and it evokes all of these meanings more so than any other color.”

I have recently invested in a computer drawing tablet and so I am taking my creativity to the next level with technology. I have created with the same kind of flow that I would do with my old-fashion nibbed ink pen or coloured pens or pencils. It is vibrant. I have to admit, it took me a long time to deal with actually creating something. I was fearful of it and do not know all the hurdles I need to climb over quite yet.
This is my creation called “Doing It” because it involves taking micro and baby steps in the right direction. It is about encouragement and “Going for it.” It is time for my new future!

I basically love to create with ink and pen. I had a very good flow going when I was doing this drawing. I added a multitude of colours to the drawing and a gradient background. Hope it makes you happy.
