Summer Time at the Lake – Photography by Mary Mikawoz – Click on image or link to see the bigger picture.
This is a panoramic view of Lake Winnipeg during the summer time. Lake Winnipeg is the tenth largest freshwater lake in the world. The one benefit of covid was that the fishermen and fisherwomen did not fish and so the stocks replenished themselves and so they are not as depleted stocks as they had been.
With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

This is a photograph I took of the harbour in Pine Dock which is north of Gimli, Manitoba, Canada. There is a quaint little lighthouse for those early morning fishing times when the professionals head out to check their nets or when they come in late past dusk. There is also a nice Canada Flag on a pole situate on the rocks..
There are a number of buildings in the area including a fish processing plant nearby.
I have made the photograph into an artistic painting by digitally altering it.

This is a photograph of a turtle swimming amongst fishes. What is interesting to me is that although it is in water the top of its shell is completely dry! What a great swimmer that it can be in water and bask in the sunlight and still not get wet!
I took the photograph in Freeport, Bahamas.
According to Wikipedia, “Turtles are reptiles of the order Testudines characterized by a special bony or cartilaginous shell developed from their ribs and acting as a shield.”

This is a fishing boat in the Vancouver Harbour in British Columbia near the Lion’s Gate Bridge in Stanley Park. It is being followed by a flock of birds because of all the fish they are catching.
I have put some nice blue effects on the image to make it more interesting than the gray scale image that it originally was.

This is a photograph of a beautiful, white heron in water showing off his profile.
According to All About Birds Organization, “Statuesque, stately, and elegantly plumaged, with long necks and long legs, herons rank among our most conspicuous and beautiful birds. They use their long, sharp bills to stab at fish, frogs, or large insects while gracefully wading through estuarine shallows, ponds, marshes, and ditches.”

This is a photo of a simple little water scene. The yellow and black fish swim along the pink and purple coral. Sorry, I am not even sure what the names are of all the parts of this water scene. To me, it is just beautiful being nameless and not properly identified. I even like the angle the fish swims at as it seems to curve its own body. Any help identifying what it what?
