My, My, My – What do we have here? This is a deer who is checking me out as I check them out.
He/she is peaking his/her head out of the foliage while I try to move in for a close-up. God’s fauna are incredible. They are so elegant and classic. I think animals and wildlife need to be treated better by humanity.
I can only think of all the animals who were killed during the fires in BC this summer and then the flooding that followed soon afterwards. My heart goes out to all of God’s creatures.
With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

Bambi II
I find all deer adorable and yet stunningly beautiful. This one is called Bambi II because I highlighted another one earlier on. This one is more like the Disney version with the light brown fur and little horns starting off.
I like his huge black eyes and his black little nose. I like how big his ears are and how he is attentively listening to his environment.
According to Canadian Geographic, “The deer is a great jumper and runner. It can reach speeds of up to 58 kilometres per hour (36 miles per hour). Like a cow, the white-tailed deer’s stomach has four compartments. This allows food to be processed more efficiently and means that the deer can feed on things that other mammals cannot process.”
This was taken in the Jasper and Banff area of Alberta.

I took this photograph while lying down on the ground in autumn by Lake Winnipeg in Little Deer. It was a glorious day of watching the leaves softly fall to the ground. I looked up at the breadth and wealth of the canopy of trees.

I have decided to call this little, light-haired deer that I photographed as Bambi. He is adorable. I love his big eyes and huge fluffy ears and face. This was taken between Banff and Jasper in Alberta on the Icefield Parkways Highway 93.
Did you know that according to Wikipedia, “Bambi is a 1942 American animated film directed by David Hand (supervising a team of sequence directors), produced by Walt Disney and based on the 1923 book Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Austrian author Felix Salten.”

Here is a beautiful view of sculpted antlers that nature has made. It is just perfectly made.
Wikipedia indicates: “Antlers are extensions of an animal’s skull found in members of the deer family. Antlers are true bone and are a single structure. They are generally found only on males, with the exception of the reindeer/caribou. Antlers are shed and regrown each year and function primarily as objects of sexual attraction and as weapons in fights between males for control of harems.”
