This image is kind of funny and cute. This little squirrel had been chomping down on an apple that had grown on the front tree of our house. I have to give credit to my father for he had a green thumb and planted all the apple trees in the front and back yards.

He definitely noticed me as evidenced by his upright ears and bulging eyes. I think he was thinking, “Is she going to steal my deliciously, fine apple?”

As for me, I love beauty in all its forms. With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and feel as if I am “in the flow.” With my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time. I feel as if I am zinged when I capture that special shot and it is meant to be.

Cute One

Cute One

I took this photograph of this prairie dog in Edmonton even though they can be found throughout the prairie regions of Canada.

According to Wikipedia, “Prairie dogs (genus Cynomys) are herbivorous burrowing rodents native to the grasslands of North America. The five species are: black-tailed, white-tailed, Gunnison’s, Utah, and Mexican prairie dogs. They are a type of ground squirrel, found in North America.”

I remember that in one of my very first cross-country races as a teenager was at Omand’s Creek and Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, I stepped into a gopher hole and twisted my ankle while running. I went over my ankle but I kept going and finished the race. I would have avoided the hole but there were so many runners around me and we were bunched up through a narrow pathway that I could not see it coming up all of a sudden. Live and learn.

They are cute despite creating big holes and tunnels in the ground which can be dangerous.

Chipmunk Rising on Pride Rock

Mikawoz Chipmunk Rising on Pride Rock

Chipmunk Rising on Pride Rock

This adorable little chipmunk is on the rise of the Pride Rock which comes from the Lion King movie just like Mufasa or Simba. He is perching every so eloquently and royally. So, you see, I have a bit of an imagination…

Bambi

Mikawoz Bambi

Bambi

I have decided to call this little, light-haired deer that I photographed as Bambi. He is adorable. I love his big eyes and huge fluffy ears and face. This was taken between Banff and Jasper in Alberta on the Icefield Parkways Highway 93.

Did you know that according to Wikipedia, “Bambi is a 1942 American animated film directed by David Hand (supervising a team of sequence directors), produced by Walt Disney and based on the 1923 book Bambi, a Life in the Woods by Austrian author Felix Salten.”

Peak-a-Boo

Here is a little, brown, burrowing owl. It is just peaking out from the leaves as if to say “Peak-A-Boo.” It is spectacular in its own way.

Mama and Ducklings

Mama And Ducklings

I like this image of the Mama Duck and her little wee ducklings. They are in a algae covered pond at St. Vital Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I am not sure why but that spring there was a lot of green algae in the pond.
