Healing and Transformation

Healing and Transformation

Book: “Healing and Transformation: Moving from the Ordinary to the Extraordinary” by Eric Alsterberg, Ph. D.

Book Review by Mary Mikawoz

This book is a combination psychological book and spiritual book. It discusses case examples and references many books. The overall encompassing message is that we, as a people, are having a spiritual experience while in human form. This message is emphasized throughout the book.

I like the case examples including the ones from the author’s life. He brings insight into the spiritual life and of that entering into the New Golden Age. The author covers many life subject areas from masculinity and femininity roles, intimate relationships to parenting.

Eric Alsterberg says there are no coincidences – that everything is as it should be. However, depending upon how we think positively or negatively determines what kind of world we will have. Depending upon our actions to be Christ-like or opposite also determines the kind of Earth we will live in.

He speaks of listening to the inner voice, the higher self or God presence in our intuition or while we meditate. We can hear from angels, ascended masters or our guides. We will be only give so much information as we can handle. We make decisions based on what we know and sometimes information is withheld for our own benefit.

Dr Alsterberg says there are many traditional methods for healing which include psychotherapy, self-help groups, twelve step tradition groups, self-help books and technologies, seminars and workshops, massage therapy, Reiki, meditation and prayer.

He uses hypnotherapy in his practice and sometimes deals with past-life regression. He believes that many issues that we currently deal with may have their karmic beginnings in past lives. This is something we need to deal with.

Dr. Alsterberg mentions some of his client’s problem with abuse. In one situation, a woman kept attracting abusive partners. He concludes that “Guilt is often an attack on us for not being able to forgive ourselves.” Further forgiveness is important because God is Pure Love and has already forgiven us. Yet people struggle to forgive themselves. We need to release the negative and fear-based emotions within ourselves. Dr. Alsterberg makes his clients visualize positive and love-based emotions leaving and then coming back down a beam of light from higher dimensions and going back into the person.

This book tries to cover many aspects of life. It is am ambitious project. It is an interesting book. Some points, I do not agree with because they have not been proved but they are minor problems with the book. You will know them when you see them. I recommend this book to those who like psychological and spiritual books.

Book: “Hot Chocolate for the Mystical Soul: 101 True Stories of Angels, Miracles and Healings” by Arielle Ford

Book Review by Mary Mikawoz

You could read this book non-stop from front cover to the end but I don’t recommend it. The stories are fascinating and almost unbelievable but they are better read one story at a time. From Mystical Places to Romances of the Soul to Help from Above to The Other Side, the stories are inspiring. They tell of the mystical beings of humanity.

One of the first stories that struck a chord for me is the story of “The Day the Gods were Thirsty.” A marble-stone statue of the elephant god, Ganesha was drinking milk. All over India, in fact, the statues were drinking up milk that was offered by the people. It was broadcast all over the world by CNN and the BBC. It is amazing that something like this could ever happen but apparently it did.

This story is one of the amazing stories of the 101 stories presented.

I would recommend this book as a nice gift to anyone who requires inspiration and hope.

Book Review: The Big Book of Angel Tarot

Big Book of Angel Tarot

Big Book of Angel Tarot

Book: “The Big Book of Angel Tarot: The Essential Guide to Symbols, Spreads and Accurate Readings” by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine

Book Review by Mary Mikawoz

This book is compendium of information that goes along with the Angel Tarot Card Deck. The beginning of the book, reviews the history of tarot and how this deck compares to the traditional Rider-Waite deck. These cards are positive in nature while still dealing with events in a person’s life that may be perceived as negative or difficult to deal with. For this reason, the cards do not have a reverse meaning. If the cards are upside down, you simply put them the right direction and read the reading based on what has been written symbolically, according to the picture itself and based on both angel numbers and astrology.

The Major Arcana is now the Dreamer’s Journey. You follow him/her as they progress through life until you reach the World along with Archangel Michael. Each Major Arcana card has an Archangel attached to it which gives you further information as to how the card works in the spread or reading.

The Minor Arcana has pip cards which are the numbered cards and the court cards which include the Page, the Knight, The Queen and the King. The Ace starts off each suit. The suits have been changed to Fire, Water, Air and Earth.

The Fire has dragons and wands in it, Water has cups in it plus merpeople, Air has unicorns in it (swords in previous tarot decks) and Earth has fairies and gold coins in it.

I studied this book by having physically organized my cards according to the Major Arcana and Minor Arcana in the order they are presented in the book. Then it took time, however, I studied the card, then read the reading, reflected on the card some more and paused to think about it all. Then, I proceeded to the next card. In time, the whole deck and book were finished.

My head is now full of imagery, stories and symbolism. It is an appropriate book to have as a reference guide to go along with the Angel Tarot Cards. The little guide book that comes with the deck are good for basic information and then this big book gives you far more detail. This deck obviously took into consideration a lot of factors.

Book: “Angels of Abundance” by Doreen and Grant Virtue

Book: “Angels of Abundance” by Doreen and Grant Virtue

Book Review by Mary Mikawoz

The bad part of this story is that I have misplaced the “Angels of Abundance” book. The good part of this story is that this will be a review based on what I remember. I finished the book a week ago. It was a good short read.

I found the book to be a good basic book for beginners. It talks about the various Archangels that are able to help you. It also speaks of the book “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne. What it does is to point out that the message of “The Secret” was not complete. It is one thing to have positive thoughts, however you also need to pair this with action of a similar path. A person can dream all they want of possessions and what not but that is not the single way to get it or them. Action is required as well.

Well, I realized I did need the book as a reference so I searched around and I found the book. The subtitle says a lot about the book – “Heaven’s 11 Messages to Help You Manifest, Support, Supply and Every Form of Abundance.” Of primary point is that you need to ask for help. It is written that if you do not ask, you can not receive. You have been given free will and with that comes the responsibility for you to ask for help. It is heard and will be given. Of second importance, is that “The How is Up to God.” This means that in his time and space, the item or experience will be given when it is for the better or best of all people concerned. Each chapter comes along with more information for the abundance.

I think one of the most important chapters had to do with “High Energy = Faster Manifestation.” It covers food, exercise, stress and keeping motivated. By keeping your energy high, the abundance will appear more quickly. These are ideas reinforced by Abraham who is channelled by Esther Hicks. You have to be in the flow and not resisting in order to achieve those things that you wish to receive.

The book overall is, like I said, a basic book. Many of the concepts, I have read before but it is nice to see the whole thing presented here. It is the energy work that you need to focus on.

Blue Waves of Healing

Mikawoz Blue Waves of Healing

Blue Waves of Healing

This is the colour associated with healing.  More than that, The Sun Ray Organization says that “The Blue Ray is the first Ray of light. The energy of this Flame is the first and final synthesis, the source of all the other energies. The Blue Flame is in the core of the very strength and energy. The first Ray is represented in the power of intent, cause, direction, centralization and unity, and its keynote is will – Divine Will. The basic qualities of the Blue Flame are manifested through the energies of power, strength, faith and protection.”

Blue Flames Of Healing

This represents the “Blue Flame of Healing” that many spiritual healers use to heal people like the phenom, Canadian-born, Adam, the Dream Healer.  To some, this blue flame of healing is known as the blue ray of light which is the first ray of light and is associated with Archangel Michael.  According to Free Choice granted by God, when faced with any difficulties in life, neither Angel nor Archangel will help you unless you ask for help.  So, this acrylic painting is the first of two phases representing the blue flame of healing.  The second represents the flame in action and transforming.
