I was on my way back by plane from Churchill, Manitoba to the capital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. I was blessed to see an array of beautiful clouds. Every second we moved, we came across some more incredible formations. I love the blue colours surrounding the white fluffy, puffy clouds.

With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

This aerial photograph was taken just south of Winnipeg in the southern region of Manitoba in Canada across the border from North Dakota, USA.  

It reminds me very much of a scrabble board because of the square allotments of flat land. I really like the clouds in the skyline which are interesting and look as if they will be churning around with some extra snowstorms that will come over the Prairies.

With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.

Spectacular Alberta View

This photograph was taken on top of the ride on the Lake Louise Gondola ride. It showcases the emerald green lake of Lake Louise and behind her, the great Victoria Glacier.

According to Wikipedia, “Lake Louise is named after the Princess Louise Caroline Alberta (1848–1939), the fourth daughter of Queen Victoria and the wife of the Marquess of Lorne, who was the Governor General of Canada from 1878 to 1883.”

Also, “The turquoise colour of the water comes from rock flour carried into the lake by melt-water from the glaciers that overlook the lake,”

River Path

This is an aerial photograph of one of my trips back home. It highlights a river path snaking its was through the country side. Only a few wisps of clouds remain. This was in the winter time but we were far enough south that there wasn’t any snow on the ground.

Winnipeg Floodway

On a plane trip back to the Winnipeg Airport we flew over the Winnipeg Floodway. Although it seems like it is a river it is just way too darn straight to be one. It is also known as the Red River Floodway and Duff’s Ditch after Premier Duff Roblin after his government implemented it after the disastrous 1950 flood. It has saved countless floods and money in this plains area.

According to Wikipedia, “It was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 2000, as the floodway is an outstanding engineering achievement both in terms of function and impact.”

This is the wonderful Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA. I love the angle and closeness of this right-hand hill. There is so much texture and structure to the hill. As well, there are great crevices in the background. It is really quite scenic.

Circle Gorge

 

This is from a helicopter view of the Grand Canyon, Arizona. I like the circle gorge as I think it is amazing the winds have created such an incredible structure.

We were so high, that we were almost at the cloud level.
