Perched on a Tree

Here is a lone Bald Eagle perched on a tree. I took this photograph just before he launched. I think it is a good enough photo as it is.

Here is a photograph that I have taken of a Bald Eagle on top of a tree. I have included an abstract drawing of a bald eagle’s head. Together they form a new image.

Assiniboine Park Pavilion

This is an autumn picture of the Pavilion and Duck Pond at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The Canada Geese are on their migratory route south at this time of year. “Canada geese fly in a distinctive V-shaped flight formation, with an altitude of 1 km (3,000 feet) for migration flight. The maximum flight ceiling of Canada geese is unknown, but they have been reported at 9 km (29,000 feet).”(Wikipedia)

Feathers

This is a close-up of Canada Geese Feathers. I love the symmetry and flow of the feathers. The male Canada goose usually weighs 2.6–6.5 kg (5.7–14.3 lb) and the female Canada Goose is slightly lighter at 2.4–5.5 kg (5.3–12.1 lb).

This is a close-up photograph of the head of a Canada Goose taken in fall at the Duck Pond at Assiniboine Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It’s head is tucked in between its wings. The Canada Goose is found near water in the Arctic and the Temperate Zones of North America. It has been introduced to Great Britain, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and the Falkland Islands.

Solo Bald Eagle

This is one of the best photos I have of a solo Bald Eagle.  The background was just perfect.  I also like the way the plumage is gently flying in the air.  Its beak is perfect for what he needs to do.  The eye is piercing.  Love this photo and the detail.

Did you know that both sexes of bald eagles have the same colouring for plumage?  The difference is that the female is actually a bit larger.  Eagles have excellent eyesight.  “They have two foveae or centers of focus, that allow the birds to see both forward and to the side at the same time.”

Sparkling Water and Goose

I could not believe how gorgeous the water turned out around this goose.  The white goose is encircled with huge diamond–shaped sparkling lights.  I love the way the water seems to fold itself over delicately moving as the goose glides along the water.  I also love the multi-pointed sparks of light.  This photo was taken in Freeport, Bahamas in The Garden of the Groves on the Grand Bahamas Island.
