I started off drawing with India Ink and nib pens on paper. I was in a zen state of mood. The shapes, rhythms and swirls just flowed. I later took the drawing and put into the computer where I added colours.
The colours represent my hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. Winnipeg is the closest city to the geographical centre of North America. From North to South and West to East, it is in the middle of the continent. It is the heartbeat of the land mass. There are three sets of representations – colours of the City of Winnipeg, the Fort Garry Horse Regiment of the Winnie the Bear fame and also the CFL Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
With my art, I am often in a zen-type of mood and with my photography, I feel as if I am inspired by God or the Universe to capture these moments in time.
