Changing Times
This is a photograph I took just to be fun with encouragement and influence from my son. I took a photo of the iconic Big Ben on an angle or akilter. It is cast with a dramatic sky of foreboding clouds in the background. It is kind of a reflection of this past year since the pandemic hit the world with a fury and changed our lives with lockdowns and restrictions.
It is time to make Big Ben upright, straight and strong. Did you know that in 2012, it’s name was changed from Big Ben or The Clock Tower to the Elizabeth Tower to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Original Tower website indicates that, “So far, Big Ben has chimed during the reign of British monarchs Victoria, Edward VII, George V, Edward VIII, George VI, and currently Elizabeth II.”
Time is, after all, an illusion and we only have the practicality of time pieces to plan for the future and reflect upon the past. Our only moment of power is in the present moment which is now. Let us go into the New Year with anticipation for positive change and hope for a new and better world. Happy New Year!
