This is a photograph I took of the harbour in Pine Dock which is north of Gimli, Manitoba, Canada. There is a quaint little lighthouse for those early morning fishing times when the professionals head out to check their nets or when they come in late past dusk. There is also a nice Canada Flag on a pole situate on the rocks..
There are a number of buildings in the area including a fish processing plant nearby.
I have made the photograph into an artistic painting by digitally altering it.

I was walking along the shores of Lake Winnipeg up around Matheson Island. The water had receded so I could walk along the area that is normally under the lake. It is interesting how the water has picked up and perfectly placed the rock on the middle of some crack lines going off into many directions and angles. You can even see the shadow of the rock from the setting sun in the west.
I like the way your eye is taking in off to many directions yet creating the effect of coming back to the center of the image where the rock is king while appreciating the balance of the composition.

I was painting and felt inspired to paint a flame up close and personal. It has many colours and textures of gaseous flames. It is creating heat and it rises up higher and higher into the atmosphere.
It reminds me of “My Undying Love For You.” It is all about emotion that joins us all together in one glorious moment in time. It is about love that binds the world together and, in fact, the Universe.
In all sincerity, I send out my love to you now and wish you the best that life has to offer. May you enjoy the flames of love in your life!

This is a photograph of the dock at Washow Bay which is north of Riverton on the way to Beaver Creek Provincial Park. It is a favourite spot for fishing by locals.
This was taken in the spring time as the ice was starting to melt and as you can see it is a bit dodgy to be on. There is absolutely no way you could safely take your snowmobile for ice fishing on Lake Winnipeg as you can do most of the winter time when freeze up happens.
Soon the ice will refreeze and sports fishermen and fisherwomen can go back to their glory.
I have taken the liberty to put some special effects to the picture which highlights the different depths of the ice as it disappears

Vimy Ridge is a famous place and monument in France. It is dedicated to Canadians as they were able to take ground that was kept by the Germans in World War I. It was thought to be impenetrable and unbeatable and yet the Canadians did it. It was part of the Battle of Arras in the Pas-de-Calais Region of France.
This monument is 30 meters high and was designed by Walter Seymour Allward. It was unveiled in 1936 by King Edward the VIII. It was restored in 2007. Did you know that when you are on those grounds, you are back in Canada? I love this series of photos that I took because to me, it means a great deal and I honour those soldiers who fought and lost their lives for our freedoms.
This image is part of a series dedicated to Vimy Ridge. There are 13 in total. This is number 13 and the completion of this set.

This is the Leg – pronounced as “The Ledge” or the Legislature. It is the Manitoba Legislature found in the city of Winnipeg in the province of Manitoba in the country of Canada.
This is the back side of the legislature facing from the Red River. It showcases a wonderful fountain and the beautiful architectural structure of this building.
According to the Manitoba government website, “The Legislative Assembly is an independent entity, separate from the Government of Manitoba. The 57 Members of the Assembly are elected in single-member constituencies to represent the people of Manitoba.”
Further to that, “Manitoba’s Legislative Building is reputed to be one of the most impressive public buildings in North America.”

I was just thinking this would be a great start to a joke, “A Peony, Fern and an Ant grow up together in a garden…”
I simply like the composition of the ferns highlighting the full blossom peony and the little ant doing its job to open up the shut peony.
According to the DIY Network website, “Ants and peonies go together like peanut butter and jelly. The association is so strong that much folklore has developed around the issue of ants on peonies”
Further it says, “To a certain extent, ants actually take advantage of the peony flowers, harvesting much nectar from the plants. But the peonies also benefit, in that ants often devour any insects that are attacking the plants.”

This is a drawing I created with India Ink, with old-fashioned ink wells and nib pens that flow onto the surface of the drawing pad. I scanned it and created more colour.
I have emphasized the colour purple and according to ColorMatters website, “Taking all aspects of purple’s past and present into consideration, purple symbolizes magic, mystery, spirituality, the sub-conscious, creativity, dignity, royalty – and it evokes all of these meanings more so than any other color.”
