Swirly Top Mountain – Photography by Mary Mikawoz

This is a photograph I took in the National Parks near Jasper and Banff, Alberta. I love the swirly top effect of the mountain. It kind of reminds me of a chocolate and vanilla swirl ice cream cone.  

It has not been strip-mined for trees as that would be rectangular and boxy in appearance. This is natural and probably represents where normally the snow lands when it is winter time. I believe we had hiked up quite high in the mountains when I took this image.
