Itty Bitty Footprints – Photography by Mary Mikawoz
Itty Bitty Footprints
This is a photograph of sand with itty bitty footprints made either by birds or insects. It was take at Prince Edward Island National Park. There is a small cricket or grasshopper in the lower quadrant of the photo, so maybe it is to be credited with the itty bitty footprints. I like the composition of sand, grass, footprints and the rock.
According to Wikipedia, “Situated along the island’s north shore, fronting the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the park measures approximately 60 km in length and ranges from several hundred metres to several kilometres in width.”

White Wolves – Black and White Photography by Mary Mikawoz
White Wolves
This is a photograph of two white wolves I took. This was taken at Bearizona Wildlife Park near Flagstaff, Arizona where you drive through the Ponderosa Forest. It is just south of the Grand Canyon and north of Phoenix. I like they are relaxing after having feasted.

Mirror, Mirror – Photography & Digital Art by Mary Mikawoz
Mirror, Mirror
Back when concerts were a “thing,” we saw Adam Lambert playing with the original members of Queen, minus Freddy Merury on June 21, 2014 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada at the downtown arena called Bell MTS Place.
It was a spectacular night with Brian May doing an incredible guitar solo and also Roger Taylor going head to head with his son, Rufus Taylor, AKA Tiger, in a drum battle.
It was fantastic and very memorable. I have called it “Mirror, Mirror” to reflect the humongous screen in the middle of the stage.
I have also put a special effect so that it looks as if it is a poster capturing the moment in time.s

This tiger has his paw out as if his hand is out to help me or you. I have entitled it “I Can Help You.” It is a statement rather than a question showing compassion and caring. In these particularly hard times, it is good when family and friends are there for one another.

This is a panoramic photograph that I took off at the Castillo del Morro or Morro Castle in Havana, Cuba of the harbour and the main part of the city across the waters. It is in the Bay of Havana within the Straits of Florida in the Atlantic Ocean.
According to Wikipedia, “Castillo de los Tres Reyes Magos del Morro is named after the three biblical Magi, is a fortress guarding the entrance to Havana bay in Havana, Cuba. The design was drawn up by the Italian engineer Battista Antonelli; originally under the control of Spain, the fortress was captured by the British in 1762, and was returned to the Spanish under treaty terms a year later.”

This is a photograph I took looking out through the trees at night time at the moon. It was actually over Lake Winnipeg but you can’t see the water in this picture. I have made a rouge effect to make the moon more mysterious and in keeping with the fact that it was taken during the spring when the “Pink Supermoon” was in effect.
According to the Earthsky Website, “In 2020, this April full moon also presents the closest (and thereby largest) supermoon of the year. This full moon more closely coincides with lunar perigee – the moon’s closest point to Earth in its monthly obit – than does any other full moon in the year 2020.”

This is a photograph that I took to illustrate how the owners have an open nature concept in homes. From the window, you can see that nature has overtaken what is left of this building. Only a beam is left to hold up the back side of the house.
I have always enjoyed the contrast between man and nature and am surprised how quickly nature takes over.

Forgotten Root Cellar – Photography by Mary Mikawoz
Forgotten Root Cellar
When I was younger, we used to come back from being at the beach along the country roads back to the city. We would stop at the farmers who would sell their produce at their properties. They had all their food in burlap bags and would have them stored in root cellars.
This is a photograph of an old root cellar because they were built near the ground and went down deep into the soil to keep the vegetables cold and preserved. This picture brings back good memories.

This is my photograph of an old building that is still up and about after all this time. It has been forgotten and left to rot on its own and yet I hear it say, “I’m Still Standing” by Elton John.
His chorus goes like this:
“Don’t you know I’m still standing better than I ever did Looking like a true survivor, feeling like a little kid I’m still standing after all this time Picking up the pieces of my life without you on my mind
I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah I’m still standing yeah yeah yeah”

Theodore Roosevelt Lake – Photography by Mary Mikawoz
Theodore Roosevelt Lake
I took this photograph on the way to Theodore Roosevelt Dam and Bridge along highway 188 just East of Phoenix, Arizona by 80 miles or so.
According to Wikipedia, “Theodore Roosevelt Lake (usually called Roosevelt Lake, sometimes Lake Roosevelt) is a large reservoir formed by Theodore Roosevelt Dam on the Salt River in Arizona as part of the Salt River Project (SRP).”
