White One

This is a close-up photograph of a white parrot taken at the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, BC. You can see its feather as if they are petals of a flower elegantly spread out on her body. I like the way she has her face angled.

Diamond Head

Mikawoz Diamond Head

Diamond Head

This is the basis of a photograph I took of the Diamond Head Mountain in Waikiki, Hawaii while I was on a boat on the Pacific Ocean. I have digitally created a new imprint of the mountain.

According to the Go Hawaii website, “Known as Leahi (brow of the tuna) in Hawaiian, the crater was named Diamond Head by 19th century British sailors who thought they discovered diamonds on the crater’s slopes. These “diamonds” were actually shiny calcite crystals that had no value.”

Wind Turbines

Wind Turbines

Thankfully we, as a society, are looking at alternative energy sources. Here is a photograph that I took of a line of very tall wind turbines. The skyline was very dramatic that day. This picture was taken in Alberta, home to the major oil producers in Canada who have alternative sources of energy too.

According to Wikipedia, “A wind turbine, or alternatively referred to as a wind energy converter, is a device that converts the wind’s kinetic energy into electrical energy. Wind turbines are manufactured in a wide range of vertical and horizontal axis.”

Sharp One

Here is a cactus with its baby offspring. It is all pointy and sharp. This was originally a photograph taken in the deserts of Arizona, USA and then I modified it with digital artwork.

Jagged Mountain Tops

Jagged Mountain Tops

These are beautifully sculpted and jagged mountain tops. The sun is coming from the left side and embellishing the mountains with its hue. There is some vegetation growth up the sides and although it was summer, there is snow high up towards its peaks.

Grass Growing

Grass Growing

Sometimes such as now, I feel as if we are watching grass grow. It is small and miniscule. You do not see progress everyday but it is there growing. Such is the time with the Corona Virus, progress is being made to defeat, eliminate or decrease its effects. Time will be the answer as we watch the “grass grow.”

Directional

This is an abstract acrylic painting of directions we take in life. There are routes that criss cross each other but essentially, we are all going in the right direction in on our path through this life. May your journey be fortuitous. I really like this piece and I hope you do too.

White Arctic Wolf

White Arctic Wolf

I took this photo of this beautiful White Arctic Wolf at the Edmonton Valley Zoo.

According to the City of Edmonton website, “Arctic wolves are well adapted to survive subzero temperatures, up to five months of darkness and weeks without food. To blend in with their surroundings, they are usually white with grey or brown undertones.”

Wild West

Wild West

Here is an image of free range buffalo or bison in the Wild West of Canada. They are roaming freely across the grassy foothills of the mountains. It is part of the Bison Paddock Road in Waterton Lakes National Park. I like the way the scenery is composed by nature.

My Two Bears

Mikawoz My Two Bears

My Two Bears

These really aren’t my two bears but I think they are adorable and cute even though they are dangerous and wild. I took the photograph near Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada.

According to Wikipedia, “The brown bear (Ursus arctos) is a bear species found across Eurasia and North America. In North America, the populations of brown bears are called grizzly bears. It is one of the largest living terrestrial members of the order Carnivora, rivalled in size only by its closest relative, the polar bear (Ursus maritimus), which is much less variable in size and slightly bigger on average.”
